We value a team approach to saving burrowing owls

MBORP works with two main project partners, The Souris River Watershed District and the Assiniboine Park Zoo. The Souris River Watershed administers funds for MBORP and the Assiniboine Park Zoo cares for the burrowing owls over winter and provided veterinarian services to owls in MBORP program.

We also work with a network of burrowing owl conservation program across Canada. Burrowing owls do not understand international or provincial borders. Every program working to help with recovery of the species is important and it’s imperative we collaborate to ensure best management practices are being implemented to increase burrowing owl populations.

Burrowing Owls don’t live in forests, they live in the grasslands which are now mostly pastureland.
